Baylor Bears quarterback Seth Russell will miss the remainder of the season to undergo surgery to repair a broken bone in his neck in their 45-27 victory over Iowa State on Saturday, according to ESPN's Joe Schad:

Art Briles told me today Seth Russell has been “masterful” but Jarrett Stidham is “polished, very, very accurate and has great instincts.”

Baylor, the No. 2 team in the country, heads into a bye next week before facing Kansas State on the road next Thursday night.
Russell threw for just 197 yards and two touchdowns against Iowa State, but that's an outlier in what has been a fantastic, Heisman-worthy season for the Baylor QB. He's already thrown for 2,104 yards and 29 touchdowns this year, with only six interceptions to his credit.
Stidham has completed 24/28 passes for 331 yards, six touchdowns, and no interceptions in relief this season.
