The #4 Baylor Bears will fall out of position for a College Football Playoff spot after Saturday's 41-27 loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers.
However, they will have a spot in a few different record books for their troubles.

Baylor just set an all-time field and opponent record with 185 penalty yards. Old mark was 170 by Norfolk State in 2011.

Baylor's penalty yardage is a Big 12 record, as well.

The crazy thing about Baylor's Big 12 record. They set it in the third quarter. They actually improved dramatically from their insanse penalty pace as the game wore on.
However, FOX Sports referee extraordinaire Mike Pereira wants you to know that it wasn't all Baylor's fault. In fact, he decided to show a national television audience a rulebook to chastise officials for reviewing a play that wasn't reviewable:
The officials were extremely quick to pull the trigger on Saturday when in came to flags, so Baylor has both themselves and some camera-hogging referees to thank for what was a not-so-great record day for the Bears in Morgantown.
