WR Reynolds permitted to play in NFL by Navy

Keenan Reynolds has been given permission to play for the Baltimore Ravens this season, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus told "The Dan Patrick Show" on Friday.

Reynolds, a sixth-round pick of the Ravens, will fulfill his service commitment in the Navy Reserves, which will allow him to play full-time for the Ravens.

An official announcement will be made Friday afternoon.

New England Patriots long-snapper Joe Cardona has also received approval from the Navy to play this season.

The Navy gets a five-year service commitment from Reynolds in exchange for his undergraduate education, but there are instances where the Secretary of the Navy can waive or rearrange that commitment.
