The Baltimore Ravens cornerback situation is getting interesting. Jimmy Smith is set to receive $9.5 million for the 2019 season. The Ravens saw Marlon Humphrey become the number one cornerback last season and his star is rising. Brandon Carr is coming off a very good season and Tavon Young earned an extension as a nickel cornerback. The Ravens have put themselves in a position to be able to live without Smith.
In an ideal world the Ravens can bring back Smith and Carr, asking Smith to take a pay cut. In a realistic world the Ravens see the out in Smith’s contract and ask Humphrey, Carr and Young to be their big three in the secondary.
