Ravens safety Tony Jefferson donated $20,000 to a hurricane relief fund started by Miami Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso.
Alonso’s father grew up in Puerto Rico and the linebacker currently lives in Miami, so he calls both places “home.” Both have been ravaged by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, with the less developed island of Puerto Rico taking the brunt of the damage.
“While both cities began to rebuild after Irma, Maria has hit Puerto Rico leaving unmeasurable damage,” Alonso wrote. “The people are living an unimaginable nightmare.”
Alonso thanked Jefferson for his donation on Twitter:
Thanks to the @Ravens' @_tonyjefferson, the @Giants' @KeenanRobinson1, the @Titans' @_RMatthews and so many others for their generous donations to help Puerto Rico and Miami recover!
