Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs on Thursday filed suit against the wife of his late agent, Gary Wichard, seeking to recover more than $400,000 paid for services he believes were not rendered after Wichard’s 2011 death, plus damages caused by the alleged lack of representation.
The suit, filed in Baltimore, is one of several in a multi-year dispute between Suggs and Wichard’s estate, run by his wife, Marie Wichard. The estate operated Wichard’s agency, Pro Tect Management, after his death.
As part of the six-year, $63 million contract in 2009 that made Suggs the NFL’s highest-paid linebacker, Suggs agreed to pay Pro Tect three percent of his earnings for services including contract advice, endorsements, and medical assistance.
