The Baltimore Ravens aren't expected to use the franchise or transition tag for the fifth time in six years, so the window to start doing so on Wednesday won't mean much to their players.
But this period could significantly limit the Ravens' choices in this year's wide receiver free-agent class.
Baltimore would have no shot at either Jarvis Landry, Allen Robinson or Sammy Watkins if they are tagged. The deadline to tag players is March 6.

The Ravens typically don't pursue unrestricted free agents (because they count against the team's compensatory pick formula), but owner Steve Bisciotti and coach John Harbaugh emphasized the need to add playmakers for quarterback Joe Flacco this offseason.
