Steve Smith Sr. didn't get a chance to "ride off into the sunset" in his final season of the National Football League.
But, the trash-talking king did land one more shot toward defensive backs across the league.
In a letter addressed to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell -- which was posted to Smith's individual Twitter account -- the 16-year veteran wrote that "... he will no longer be antagonizing defensive backs ..."
The five-time Pro Bowler, who played for Carolina before wrapping up his career in Baltimore, ranks 12th in league history with 1,028 receptions and seventh with 14,697 receiving yards, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.
