Most believe preseason games are a necessary evil. They allow NFL talent evaluators an opportunity to build their rosters from the bottom up, uncover potential hidden gems and structure the best 53-man squad that they can.

Yet the evaluation isn’t without cost and the costliest items arrive in the form of injuries. The casualties seem to be mounting at an alarming rate not only for the Ravens but for all teams.

Are the players not getting the proper amount of live contact opportunities during training camp? Can we correlate the number of serious injuries in the preseason to a lack of physicality in camp?
