Today’s sessions started off slowly, you might even say lethargic. On the heels of all the social upheaval refueled by the events in Kenosha, WI, the energy was lacking. It was as if a cloud hovered over the practice field.
Practice went on as schedule at 9 and up to 9:40, it was special teams coordinator Chris Horton’s show. Horton ran through some gunner drills with the punt team and later focused on the kick return and coverage teams. James Proche effortlessly catches punts. Camp punter Johnny Townsend got in some work and was ok, but for those who are hoping that Eric DeCosta can pull another genie from the bottle and trade Townsend, slow your roll.
