Ryan Mallett fined $12,154 by NFL for verbally abusing an official

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Ryan Mallett was fined $12,154 by the NFL for verbally abusing an official last Sunday in Green Bay.

Mallett, who was on the sideline, was penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct after a punt late in the third quarter of Sunday's 23-0 win over the Packers.

It's unknown what Mallett was upset about. But his comments came a couple plays after the officials picked up a flag for a low hit on quarterback Joe Flacco.

Mallett declined to talk to reporters on Wednesday and wasn't in the locker room Friday.
