OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- When the Baltimore Ravens released Eugene Monroe on Wednesday, the team essentially announced that first-round pick Ronnie Stanley will be its starting left tackle.
The news came with mixed emotions for the No. 6 overall pick.
"It feels good in a sense that this organization has put their faith in me," Stanley said about 90 minutes after the Ravens officially cut Monroe. "But Eugene has been nothing but a great resource and great mentor towards me. You never want to see a guy lose a job and just being empathetic with them as a human, as a person and as a brother being part of the same team.
