A Baltimore County judge on Thursday sentenced former Ravens player Terrence Cody to nine months in the county detention center on charges of animal cruelty, according to reports.

The 27-year-old Cody faced more than two years on his multiple misdemeanor cruelty convictions and drug charges. The animal cruelty charges were related to the starving death of his dog Taz and neglect of a pet alligator, which was also illegal for him to have.
