The game started out a little sketchy, morphed into a thing of beauty if you’re a fan of the black and purple, and then kind of dissolved into a weird, sloppy mess of missed assignments, a bungled onside kick and a score that probably told the story when all’s said and done even if took a zany trip to get there.
