Ravens' Ryan Mallett has to prove he's learned from his wake-up call

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Will Ryan Mallett be the Baltimore Ravens' backup quarterback in 2016? Only he can answer that question.

Mallett has to be considered the front runner to back up Joe Flacco next season because he's younger, more strong-armed and more talented than Matt Schaub and Jimmy Clausen. But Mallett has to prove to the Ravens that he's overcome maturity issues that are unacceptable, especially at the game's most important position.

The Ravens have showed how much they want Mallett, giving him a deal that could max out at $2.5 million in 2016 ($1.5 million in base salary and $1 million in incentives), according to the NFL Network.
