Two weeks ago, the Baltimore Ravens said they didn't have to look outside the organization for a returner. A day after the final preseason game, the Ravens worked out Devin Hester, according to The Baltimore Sun.
This shows Baltimore's lack of confidence in Michael Campanaro and Keenan Reynolds nine days before the regular season begins.
It's uncertain whether the Ravens are looking to sign Hester or another free-agent returner immediately. What's apparent is Baltimore is looking to see if there are better options out there.
The Ravens entered training camp believing they would find their returner out of the competition between Campanaro, who the Ravens once envisioned to be in the mold of Julian Edelman; Keenan Reynolds, the most high-profile sixth-round pick in team history; and Kaelin Clay, who returned a touchdown in the regular season last year for Baltimore.
