Tight end Dennis Pitta signed his restructured contract with the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, which allows him to make a comeback with the team this season.
Pitta, who hasn't played in 23 months after fracturing his right hip for a second time, originally was going to make $5 million this season. Details of the new deal weren't immediately available.
He needed to reduce his base salary in order to remain with the team because the Ravens weren't going to pay that much to a player who hasn't caught a pass since September 2014.
