The Baltimore Ravens are among the 11 donors helping to redevelop Baltimore City's Western Police District headquarters, which was at the center of last year's riots.
The redesign of the 60-year-old station is expected to cost $2.4 million, according to the Baltimore Business Journal. The project aims to "serve as the prototype for a new approach towards collaborative public safety and community engagement," according to a statement released by the group of donors.
"We're committed to trying to make Baltimore better," Ravens president Dick Cass said. "We think the idea of turning the police station into more of a community center is a great idea and something we want to support, especially in West Baltimore.
