Ravens TE Darren Waller Suspended For Substance Abuse

NFL officials on Friday suspended Ravens tight end Darren Waller for violating the league's substance abuse policy, team officials said.

Waller, who is transitioning from wide receiver, will be eligible for preseason practices and games, but won't be able to return to the active roster until Monday, Oct. 3, following the Oct. 2 game against the Oakland Raiders.

A team press release did not elaborate on what substance led to the suspension.

The sixth-round pick out of Georgia Tech was active for six games in his rookie year, starting one, notching only two receptions for a total of 18 yards.
