OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Nine months after starring in the Super Bowl for Seattle, wide receiver Chris Matthews is now a member of the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.
Matthews takes the spot left by wide receiver Chuck Jacobs, who was promoted to the Ravens' 53-man roster.
Matthews struggled this season with four catches for 54 yards in nine games with the Seahawks and only one catch since Oct. 5. But he nearly helped Seattle to back-to-back Lombardi trophies in February, when he surprisingly made four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.
It could be an awkward reunion with cornerback Kyle Arrington, who had trouble covering Matthews in that Super Bowl when he was with the Patriots.
