Jeff Zrebiec reports that the Ravens have released veteran S Lardarius Webb.
Jamison Hensley of ESPN mentioned a few days ago that the signing of free agent S Tony Jefferson would likely lead to the Ravens releasing Webb in the coming days, so this shouldn’t come as a big surprise.
The Ravens now have one of the most impressive safety tandems in the NFL with Jefferson and Eric Weddle manning the backend of their defense. While Webb previously played cornerback, it’s unlikely that the Ravens would move him back to that position, as opposed to taking the cap space.
