A day after Ravens coach John Harbaugh acknowledged that the organization was evaluating everything in an effort to fix their underperforming defense, the team shook up the personnel of the group with a series of roster moves.
The Ravens terminated the contract of veteran outside linebacker Jason Babin, waived cornerback Rashaan Melvin and placed cornerback Will Davis, who tore his ACL in Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Browns, on season-ending injured reserve.
To fill those roster spots, they promoted cornerbacks Asa Jackson and Charles James from the practice squad, and announced the signing of Shareece Wright. The three cornerback additions provide depth at the position after the Ravens, in Sunday's 33-30 overtime loss to the Browns, lost Davis to a season-ending knee injury and had starter Lardarius Webb go down with a hamstring injury.
