Ravens Reach Record Number Of Players On Injured Reserve In John Harbaugh Era

The Ravens have now reached a new (unwanted) record.

With wide receiver Marlon Brown being placed on injured reserve (IR) Tuesday afternoon, Baltimore now has 20 players on the list.

That’s a new Ravens’ high during Head Coach John Harbaugh’s eight-year tenure. The Ravens had 19 players land on IR in 2008 and 2014. The team does not have records immediately available that pre-date that time.

This year’s total doesn’t including tight end Dennis Pitta (hip), who remained on the reserve/physically unable to perform list for the entire season. It also doesn’t include outside linebacker Zach Thompson (shoulder), who was placed on IR earlier this season, but reached an injury settlement with the Ravens and was released.
