The veteran lineman was placed on injured reserve Saturday because of a shoulder issue that has lingered for much of the season. Monroe missed the last two games because of the injury, and he ultimately decided to call it a season after having an MRI earlier this week.
In addition to placing Monroe on injured reserve, the Ravens also cut offensive lineman Kaleb Johnson and promoted quarterback Bryn Renner and wide receiver Chris Matthews from the practice squad.
Renner’s promotion comes just three days after he was signed to the practice squad, and it’s an indication that starter Matt Schaub may not be able to play Sunday against Seattle.
