O.J. Brigance, the Ravens senior advisor to player engagement, was recognized last Friday in San Antonio as part of the NCAA Honors Celebration.
Brigance was one of two recipients for the NCAA Inspiration Award. The award is given annually to a coach or administrator associated with intercollegiate athletics or to a current or former varsity letter winner at an NCAA institution who, “when confronted with life-altering situations, used perseverance, dedication and determination to overcome the event and, most importantly, now give hope and inspiration to others.”
Brigance, a former standout at Rice University who played seven NFL seasons and was on the Ravens’ 2000 Super Bowl team, continues to battle ALS.
