Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month on Thursday.
During the final six games of the season, Smith had 66 combined tackles and one sack. He also had an interception in that same time span.
The news comes just one day after the Ravens announced they signed Smith to a five-year contract extension. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported the deal is worth $100 million, which would make Smith the highest paid linebacker in NFL history.
Smith, 25, came to Baltimore in atrade with the Chicago Bears in October.
