The roster is never final for Ozzie Newsome.
Baltimore’s general manager is regularly maneuvering and tweaking his team throughout the spring and summer to get the best 53-man squad ready for the regular season. The NFL Draft is hardly the final piece of the puzzle when it comes to building the roster, and Newsome made that clear after the Ravens wrapped this year’s draft.
“We’re not done putting this team together right now,” Newsome said. “It’s still two or three months – maybe four months – before we have to play Denver.”
The immediate step after the draft was to start courting unrestricted free agents, and the Ravens jumped on that process as soon as the final pick was made.
