Ravens cornerback Asa Jackson's rocky road

It’s been the story of cornerback Asa Jackson’s Ravens career — glimpses of explosiveness and great potential mixed with mistakes and lapses in judgment.

So it probably was fitting that on a night when Jackson was called for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty that contributed to a Arizona Cardinals touchdown, he also blocked a punt that got the Ravens back in the game.

With the Ravens trailing 26-10 with less than five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Jackson broke through the line and stuffed Drew Butler’s punt attempt. Running back Raheem Mostert scooped up the loose ball and was brought down at the 1-yard line, leading to Joe Flacco’s touchdown pass to Kyle Juszczyk on the very next play.
