Ravens bring Asa Jackson back on practice squad, release Daniel Brown

Cornerback Asa Jackson is rejoining the Ravens on the practice squad, four days after being released as part of the team's final roster cuts and two days after he was waived by the New York Giants.

Jackson, a 2012 fifth-round pick out of Cal Poly, was one of the surprise omissions on Saturday when the Ravens announced their final 53-man roster. Jackson played a bit-role with the team for his first two seasons, twice being suspended for violations of the NFL's substance abuse policy.

He started four games at cornerback in a 2014 season where he dealt with knee and toe injuries, but couldn't do enough either on defense or in the return game to secure a roster spot this season.
