The NFL (still) has an officiating problem.
On Sunday, the Eagles punched their ticket to the Super Bowl by knocking off the Niners, and the Chiefs, thankfully, put a merciful end to Cincinnati’s season. Going into a weekend featuring two of the three most important games of the year, a recurring storyline was still beneath the surface: officiating concerns.
In an ideal world, officiating should be the last thing on anyone’s mind entering a game day. The game may be defined by chaos and randomness, but the boundaries within which that chaos occurs should remain the same.
