If there was a red carpet for OTAs on Tuesday, it would have been pretty much empty. Lamar Jackson and Roquan Smith – the highest-paid players on either side of the ball – were the only veteran stars participating, while younger big-name players like Patrick Queen, Rashod Bateman, Zay Flowers and J.K. Dobbins were all absent.
Queen, Bateman and Flowers have all been present in previous weeks, so missing a relatively laid-back practice ahead of next week’s mandatory minicamp is hardly notable. On the other hand, Dobbins’ recent public speculation about his future in Baltimore made his absence quite conspicuous, especially with just three running backs working with the rest of the offense.
