News & Notes: Harbs Thinks Jimmy Smith Could Prove to Be NFL's Best Corner

The Ravens survived with top cornerback Jimmy Smith playing just seven snaps against the Oakland Raiders because of a sore Achilles.

Head Coach John Harbaugh said he’s pleased to see the team’s depth, but make no mistake, the Ravens want Smith on the field.

“He’s a top-notch corner. He’s one of the best corners in football,” Harbaugh said.

“I’m a big Jimmy Smith fan. I think Jimmy Smith will prove in the next couple years to be maybe the best, maybe the best. I think he has a chance to do that. I feel that strongly about Jimmy.
