After a slow start to the running game in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, the Ravens used some creative play designs from the shotgun and the powerful running style of second-year running back Lorenzo Taliaferro to help revive the ground attack Sunday.
Taliaferro, who was returning from a sprained MCL suffered just over a month ago in Philadelphia during the preseason, had a touchdown and 34 yards on seven carries, plus 12 yards on three receptions, in his 2015 debut.
He proved to be exactly the kind of downhill, change-of-pace back the Ravens were hoping he’d be Sunday in the 37-33 loss to the Oakland Raiders.
