Clarence Brooks, a longtime assistant coach for the Baltimore Ravens, passed away Saturday morning at a hospital in Weston, Florida after a battle with esophageal cancer, the team announced. He was 65.
Brooks was one of the most beloved and respected assistants in Ravens history. Known affectionately as "C.B.," Brooks coached the Ravens' defensive line for 11 seasons and was the longest-tenured coach on Baltimore's staff.
"We knew he loved his players," his wife Justa said. "Through all of this, we've found out how much his players loved him. We thank everyone for the loving support.
