Lawrence Guy returns to boost thin defensive line ahead of Atlanta game

Defensive end Lawrence Guy on Tuesday returned from a knee injury suffered Saturday against the Washington Redskins, giving the Ravens a boost at a defensive line position that could be thin in the final preseason game.

Starting defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (knee) and defensive end DeAngelo Tyson (shoulder) also left the Washington game and haven’t practiced since. With starters Chris Canty and Brandon Williams likely to be held out of Thursday’s preseason finale at the Atlanta Falcons and protected for Week 1, that leaves just five available defensive linemen, provided Guy can play.

Other healthy and available linemen include third-round NFL draft pick Carl Davis, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Micajah Reynolds and Christo Bilukidi.
