For the past several weeks the list of walking wounded on defense has grown and grown, particularly when it comes to the highly troubled secondary.
Having watched lead after lead disappear through the first five games, defensive coordinator Dean Pees was posed with the question, “are injuries taking a toll or is it a lack of talent in the defensive backfield?”
His response was tilted more one way than the other.
“Obviously, if a guy was starting and a guy was the backup, the guy that was starting was better,” said Pees.
