Ravens safety Kendrick Lewis went straight to the locker room after suffering a head injury in the second quarter Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, and is in the concussion protocol, the team announced.
Lewis went head-first into Bengals receiver Marvin Jones in a last-ditch effort to prevent Cincinnati from taking a two touchdown lead with 12:18 remaining in the second quarter. He remained on the field for several minutes, and eventually got to his feet and walked straight into the locker room.
Second-year safety Terrence Brooks replaced Lewis in the Ravens' secondary.
The injury came at the end of the Bengals' second touchdown drive of the first half.
