Ravens kicker Justin Tucker didn't waste any time in putting his name on his 2016 contract.
The team announced Friday morning that Tucker has signed his franchise tender, which will pay him $4.57 million in 2016. While essentially a formality, the signing makes it official that Tucker will be with the Ravens this season.
It, however, doesn't mean that the two sides can't still work out a long-term deal, which is the goal. The Ravens and Tucker have until July 15 to agree to a long-term contract extension.
In the absence of an agreement, Tucker will play the season under the franchise tag.
