A day after a secondary shakeup that saw three new faces join an unsettled defensive backs group, and once-promising cornerback Rashaan Melvin waived to make room for fresh bodies, Ravens coach John Harbaugh explained the rationale for several of the moves Wednesday.
Harbaugh said Melvin, who started the final two games of the 2014 regular season and two playoff games before a hamstring injury and a benching in Week 3 dropped him out of favor, simply wasn’t ready fast enough for the team’s liking.
“I really like Rashaan,” Harbaugh said. “I think he’s a good person and a hard-working guy and talented guy who’s got a great future.
