Jake Long not immediately signed by Ravens as physical is ongoing

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Offensive tackle Jake Long was not immediately signed by the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday and his physical is ongoing.

Long, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2008 draft, is visiting Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama, to get consultation on his knee. He has suffered multiple anterior cruciate ligament tears over his eight-year career and was limited to four games last season.

The Ravens are interested in signing Long as insurance for first-round pick Ronnie Stanley, who is expected to start at left tackle. There also is a chance that Long could compete for the starting job at left guard.
