Is Jerraud Powers the next Daryl Smith for the Baltimore Ravens?

With the May 12 compensatory deadline in the rear-view mirror, the Ravens have made some additions to the roster, signing cornerback Jerraud Powers, offensive lineman Vladmir Ducasse, and quarterback Josh Johnson. The big addition of the 3 is Powers, who was given a 1 year, $1.75 million deal, had interest from other teams, and plays a position of need for the Ravens.

The cornerback position is one where the Ravens have many options opposite top corner Jimmy Smith, but no bonafide number 2. Shareece Wright is coming off an impressive second half for the Ravens, and although his pre-Baltimore career was nothing special, Wright will have the first shot at the starting spot opposite his high school teammate.
