The football field was Jamal Lewis' escape. From his freshman year at high school in Atlanta to his college career in Tennessee to his rookie year Super Bowl victory with the Ravens, the game held off his personal demons.
"It covers it up, it puts a Band-Aid on the issue, but at the same time, after retiring and getting out of football and being that that was my outlet, it was when everything else started creeping back in," the former running back told Kristie McIntyre.
Lewis played six seasons with the Ravens, followed by three with the Cleveland Browns.
