David Modell, who helped shaped the early years of the Ravens franchise, died Friday at the age of 55.
Modell had been battling Stage IV lung cancer for nearly two years. He was the son of late owner Art Modell and served as president of the Ravens from 1996 to 2004.
During the tumultuous move of the franchise from Cleveland to Baltimore, David Modell will be remembered for being by his father's side and helping establish the team's roots in its new city.
