Former Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason surrendered to Nashville police Monday evening in an alleged domestic assault, police there say.

An arrest warrant was issued there Monday afternoon for felony aggravated domestic assault and misdemeanor vandalism.

A 43-year-old woman Mason had been dating called police to respond to her home just before 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. She alleged she was physically assaulted, grabbed by the neck and hit in the stomach during an argument that began after she told Mason she no longer wanted to be with him.

Police say they saw bruising on the victim's right upper arm, a red mark on the right side of her neck and a scratch on her left hand.
