Former Baltimore Ravens safety and NFL Hall of Famer Ed Reed announced that he would no longer be the football head coach of Bethune-Cookman.
It was announced in late December that the school reached an agreement in principle with Reed to become the next head coach. However, in a statement released on Saturday, Reed said the school would not ratify his contract.
"Bethune-Cookman University has been working with my legal team to craft contract terms with the language and resources we knew were needed to build a successful football program," Reed said in a statement. "It's my desire to not only coach football, but to be an agent of change that most people just talk about being.
