Dog belonging to ex-Raven Terrence Cody starved to death, prosecutors allege

An animal cruelty and drug trial for former Ravens player Terrence Cody is set to begin Thursday morning in Towson.

Cody, 27, was indicted in February on 15 counts, including aggravated animal cruelty, a felony. County prosecutors' allegations stem from the death of Cody's dog, a bullmastiff.

He is also accused of misdemeanor drug charges and of illegally possessing an alligator.

Cody, who is expected to take the stand in Baltimore County Circuit Court, was released by the Ravens when he was indicted.

His girlfriend, Kourtney J. Kelley, 28, is also charged in the case and will be tried with him.
