The Ravens haven’t ruled out Dennis Pitta for the 2015 season, but coach John Harbaugh confirmed that, at best, the tight end would return around midseason.
Pitta, who has fractured and dislocated his hip in consecutive years, remains on the physically unable to perform list. If he remains on that list, he’ll be sidelined for at least the first six weeks of the season.
Pitta wants to play, but he still hasn’t been cleared by doctors to return to the field.
“The one thing about Dennis, and the thing that probably you realize, is that there is more to it than just can he play,” Harbaugh said Tuesday.
