Defensive Notes from a Win in Pittsburgh

Despite the short week, it was clear Pees prepared a significant defensive game plan for the Steelers and Vick in particular.

There were 2 elements which stood out for me:

–The consistent use of a spy for Vick was effective at key moments. For many snaps, that was Mosley out of standard defensive sets, but Zach Orr was inserted for 2 plays (Q2, 0:26 and Q4, 8:14) as a 3rd inside linebacker and spy. Orr would later relieve Mosley for 5 snaps, including the Steelers’ final 2 plays (3rd/2, 4th/1 beginning OT 10:25).
