Pardon the baseball analogy when talking about horse racing, but once again on the 3rd Saturday in May from his perch high atop Pimlico, Dave Rodman 'hit it out of the ballpark' with his call of the 144th Preakness Stakes.
It was the Maryland Jockey Club track announcer's 29th description of the Middle Jewel of Racing's Triple Crown here in Baltimore. that threw Dave a twist that he had never experienced in his previous 28.
"Every Thoroughbred race is different, every Preakness is different," says Rodman. "And you have to be prepared for almost anything in any race, but in a high profile race like the Preakness for a horse to unseat its jockey, it's a first for me.
