Rookie wide receiver Darren Waller and some of the other young wide receivers spent the night before practice during OTAs this summer in backup quarterback Matt Schaub’s hotel room, going over the script for the following day’s practice and ensuring they were all on the same page.
For Waller and Schaub, that relationship has grown into training camp, where the sixth-round pick from Georgia Tech and the veteran backup connect often with the second-team offense and make each other look good doing it.
“I’ve been getting to work with him and run all kinds of different routes for him,” Waller said.
